While listening to a podcast on not trusting Google fact check, it came to mind, “Who is fact checking the fact checkers?” How much research is done to determine how correct the fact checking agents, like snopes, are? Who is in charge of fact checking the fact checkers? The obvious answer is easy, apparently, it is you and I that have to call these groups out.
I wondered how long it would be for me to fact check a misleading call from a group like Snopes. A recent post written by JFK Jr discussed chips being embedded in vaccines and headed up by the tech giant Bill Gates.
A quick search on Snopes yielded nothing. This topic is only a few days old so that is understandable. But in my review I ran across this report by Snopes:
This is a pretty new report. So let’s investigate the investigators. In their post, Snopes indicate “A fresh meme resurrected and combined some stale claims that we had already investigated at length.” They give this title a report of False. At just a cursory review the reader would like say then that Bill Gates is not being sued by India over vaccination deaths. Right? Wouldn’t that be what you think when you see false to the titles of the post?
When they first start their analysis, they let you know what side of the issue they favor by praising Bill and Melinda Gates by saying “It is true that the Microsoft co-founder, through his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has expended billions of dollars funding research and childhood-immunization programs in developing countries.”
They do say on this specific topic that “The rumor that “India is suing Bill Gates because he vaccinated 77,000 third world girls between the ages of 9 & 15 and many of them died” is also a false one that we have explored at length. “
So let’s explore what other people are saying about girls dieing as a result of vaccinations. What type of vaccinations and how many girls died? And if it is true, how was Bill Gates tied to the vaccination process in that instance? Here are two posts that provide context on this specific issue.
When you read these two reports you will find that “In 2009, several schools for tribal children in Khammam district in Telangana — then a part of undivided Andhra Pradesh — became sites for observation studies for a cervical cancer vaccine that was administered to thousands of girls aged between nine and 15. The girls were administered the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine in three rounds that year under the supervision of state health department officials. The vaccine used was Gardasil, manufactured by Merck. It was administered to around 16,000 girls in the district, many of whom stayed in state government-run hostels meant for tribal students.”
You will also see that “Months later, many girls started falling ill and by 2010 five of them died. Two more deaths were reported from Vadodara, Gujarat, where an estimated 14,000 children studying in schools meant for tribal children were also vaccinated with another brand of HPV vaccine, Cervarix, manufactured by GSK. Earlier in the week, the Associated Press reported that scores of teenaged girls were hospitalised in a small town in northern Colombia with symptoms that parents suspect could be an adverse reaction to Gardasil.”
So the premise that Snopes was investigating was “Is Bill Gates Being Sued by India Over Vaccination Deaths?” So far we have uncovered that there were up to 7 deaths of children who participated in the study. Now the questions are, who started the study? Is Bill and Melinda Gates or their foundation implicated in this study? Why are they studying this vaccine?
In the first report it becomes very clear “The standing committee report was a shocker but it became even more significant when it was mentioned that the study was sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).”
But, was this a direct sponsorship. In the Snopes fact check they mentioned “This claim is not directly connected to Gates or the Gates Foundation, but rather to the global health organization PATH (Program for Appropriate Technology in Health), which conducted a study beginning in 2009 to see if it could reduce the number of human papillomavirus (HPV) infections by providing cost-effective vaccines to impoverished communities.”
In the 2014 report, it also mentioned the role of PATH. “BMGF continues to partner PATH in a number of studies such as the ones for a Rotavirus vaccine and pneumococcal vaccine in several countries, mainly Africa and Asia.” The people filing the lawsuit saw the connection and filed the petition knowing BMGF was a primary participant in the study that led to the death of the girls.
“BMGF has to take full responsibility because PATH is funded by them. It is also unethical when people championing the cause of vaccines are the same ones who are also investing in vaccine development”V Rukmini Rao
In the Snopes post it says “The study caused controversy in India when seven of the girls involved in the trial in that country died after receiving their vaccines, but state investigations found those deaths were unrelated to the vaccinations”
The commission in India reported this concern
“all the seven deaths were summarily dismissed as unrelated to vaccinations without in-depth investigations…the speculative causes were suicides, accidental drowning in well (why not suicide?), malaria, viral infections, subarachnoid hemorrhage (without autopsy) etc.”
The committee said that in the context of deaths of girls classified as suicide, the role of the “HPV vaccine as a possible, if not probable, cause of suicidal ideation cannot be ruled out.Controversial vaccine studies: Why is Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation under fire from critics in India?
And when you look over the second report you see this test was using a vaccine that was not yet approved.
These programmes were conducted in 2007 while the vaccines was approved later, counsel for Kalpana Mehta, who filed a public interest litigation seeking a probe into the matter, told the court.Supreme Court seeks files on cervical cancer vaccines administered in tribal belts of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat
This begs yet another question, “Did the participants know they were volunteering for being an experiment on a test vaccine?”

They intentionally injected in male subjects even though the vaccine is meant to help with cervical cancer. Indeed, they were being used as ‘Guinea pigs’.
Getting back to the topic of fact checking the fact checkers. Do you think Snopes was accurate when they labelled as False the accusation that “Is Bill Gates Being Sued by India Over Vaccination Deaths?”
Certainly the plaintiffs in the law suit believed BMGF was directly implicated and since it is “Bill and Melinda Gates” who provide direct leadership over this foundation you would have to assume they needed to be represented in this lawsuit.
As a final question about needing this vaccine (that causes death to some children) it was noted that the leading cause of cervical cancer in women is a human papilloma virus (HPV), a common virus spread through sex.
It was also mentioned the vaccine was administered “to girls as young as 9. The vaccinations are now routinely given to 12 and 13-year-old girls. “
The vaccine is used in third world nations to promote sexual promiscuity at a very early age. A more effective cure for HPV would be abstinence. Why not teach children what the harmful effects are on being sexually active before you choose the one partner to be with for life? Promote a strong principled family centered approach to life and you wipe out much pain and many sins.
