In a message to him on August 29, 1973, Our Lady told Fr. Gobbi: “Whatever I communicate to you, my son, does not belong to you alone, but it is for all my priest-sons, whom I love with predilection.
Above all it is for the priests of the Marian Movement of Priests whom I love most tenderly and whom I want to form and lead by the hand to prepare them for their great mission.
Therefore gather together in a booklet whatever I have told you…”
The Marian Movement of Priests has Expanded in a Powerful Way
And the Blue Book was written as Mother Mary had requested.

With my motherly voice I am leading you all to understand the signs of the great tribulation. From the Gospels, from the Letters of the Apostles and from the book of the Apocalypse, sure signs have been clearly described for you to make you understand what the period of the great tribulation is. The Great Tribulation – message 370 – December 31, 1987
There are a few posts on this site which dive deeper into these mysteries of the imagery of the last book of the Bible, the Apocalypse. This post is the overview that explains the dragon, the Red Dragon, the Black Beast, and the Black Beast like a lamb.
The Red Dragon, Black Beast and Beast like a lamb.
Although not spoken of by the Blessed Virgin Mary, this post on the Fall of Babylon was inspired one Sunday afternoon as I was reading chapter 18 and putting it into perspective of recent events that happened in 2020.
This week in the Office of Readings in the Catholic Church we get that glimpse into the Book of Revelation chapter 13 and 14 that discuss the dragon, the great red dragon, the beasts and a lamb like a beast.
Father Charles Becker was the national director for the Marian Movement of Priests. He discusses these readings in context with the messages the founder of the Marian Movement of Priests, Fr. Stefano Gobbi, had received from Our Blessed Mother.

Triumph over the Red Dragon, Black Beast and Beast like a lamb.
I’ve also written some detailed posts about these topics here and they rely on the same messages found in the Blue Book, To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, but I also include my thoughts in context with what other messages were there on the different topics.
Do you like these insights into the concepts in this difficult book? Please send an e-mail to webmaster at avemariahosting.com if you have other topics from the book of Revelation you would like to know more about.
The image above, the Virgin of the Apocalypse, pulls together the birth of the male child and the battle waging in heaven between St. Michael the Archangel, and the dragon in the book of Revelation Chapter 12:
She brought forth a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which to be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days. Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
Revelation 12:5-9
Later in chapter 12 we hear of the dragon went to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus.
Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus.
Revelation 12:17
Does it feel like the devil, the dragon, has been unleashed on the whole world? Is the dragon waging war on the offspring of the women who bore the male child that was taken up to God?
It’s no surprise to anyone how the Catholic Church has been the brunt of many scandals recently. Satan has been hard at work on the interior of many clergy and religious. Oh how he must feel when he finally gets a religious person to succumb to sin and work in the hearts of the leaders to cover up the behavior of predators on children. Yes, it’s easy to find fault with these clergy who have been seduced by Satan, but as Jesus said “let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone.” There is a terrible satanic force at work and these people are on the front line. Satan rejoices when he can wound a Sgt on the front lines and distract the flock and diminish their prayers and worship to the almighty.
“For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” EPH 6:12
In my last post on the Apocalypse, The Sea Beast and the Land Beast, I discussed the role Communism and Marxist atheism is playing as the great red dragon in Revelation. One of the beasts in the book of Revelation is Freemasonry. Both work against God and His eternal plan. There was also mention of a beast with two horns like a lamb but speaking like the great red dragon, like a Communist and the lamb being a reference to the priesthood.
Then I saw another beast which rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed.
Revelation 13:11-12
But now, let’s turn to chapter 14 and explain the Lamb and 144,000.
Then I looked, and there was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion!
Revelation 14
First we note this is the Lamb of Zion. For many that will bring about an image like the one on the right. Is this the same Lamb on Mt. Zion as the Lamb in chapter 22?
St. John the Evangelist proclaims “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29. The Bible proclaims that Jesus is the Lamb of God.
But what about this Lamb of Zion? To understand the context of this Lamb we look at the paragraphs just preceding it.
Lamb of Zion
We had just discussed the lamb with the two horns that spoke like a dragon. In that reference, it is the group of clergy of the Catholic Church who have given themselves over as sympathizers to Communism and Marxist atheism. With this Lamb being referenced to Zion and a Lamb that the 144,000 follow.
The one hundred forty-four thousand who have been redeemed from the earth. It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins; these follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been redeemed from humankind as first fruits for God and the Lamb, and in their mouth no lie was found; they are blameless.
Rev 14:3-4
These 144,000 seem to be very pure, not defiled themselves with women, virgins. I’ve heard some interpretations where the 144,000 is broken down to 3*4*12*1,000 where of course the 1,000 is symbolic of a great number, the 12 of course the twelve tribes. But as I was composing this post, my thoughts focused on what group of men take a vow of chastity? Again, sounds like a reference to possibly very holy priests. After Satan has been successful at corrupting many of the priests, the ones that were not seduced by Satan might be those who lead the charge in bringing about a renewed church. It could also be a large number of faithful who stay true to the teachings of Christ.
The Lamb which is their leader may be a reference to a Holy and Faithful leader of the Catholic Church in the future who leads the church, and the world, closer to God and closer to the fulfillment of His Divine Will. The great 1,000 year, aka a very long time, era of peace as described in chapter 20.
What does the Catholic Church say about this time of persecution of the Church? The Catechism of the Catholic Church has a section that discusses the basis for the creed. Starting at paragraph 675 is a discussion on the Church’s ultimate trial and includes these paragraphs:
Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. the supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.
The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.
Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him. the triumph of Christ’s kingdom will not come about without one last assault by the powers of evil.
CCC 675, 677, 680
From this official teaching of the church we know the church must go through a passion just like Our Lord’s passion. It will be a time of great persecution. Many martyrs and a time of great suffering for the people of God.
Religious have discussed this time of confusion and persecution for many centuries.
Men will surrender to the spirit of the age. They will say that if they had lived in our day, Faith would be simple and easy. But in their day, they will say, things are complex; the Church must be brought up to date and made meaningful to the day’s problems. When the Church and the world are one, then those days are at hand because our Divine Master placed a barrier between His things and the things of the world.
After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, the people of that time will become unrecognizable. When the time for the Advent of the Antichrist approaches, people’s minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonor and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will become unrecognizable. People’s appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair.
There will be no respect for parents and elders, love will disappear, and Christian pastors, bishops, and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right-hand way from the left. At that time the morals and traditions of Christians and of the Church will change. People will abandon modesty, and dissipation will reign. Falsehood and greed will attain great proportions, and woe to those who pile up treasures. Lust, adultery, homosexuality, secret deeds and murder will rule in society.
He will also give depraved wisdom to an unhappy man so that he will discover a way by which one man can carry on a conversation with another from one end of the earth to the other. At that time men will also fly through the air like birds and descend to the bottom of the sea like fish. And when they have achieved all this, these unhappy people will spend their lives in comfort without knowing, poor souls, that it is deceit of the Antichrist. And, the impious one!? He will so complete science with vanity that it will go off the right path and lead people to lose faith in the existence of God in three hypostases.
We must be prepared to undergo great trials in the not-too-distant future; trials that will require us to give up even our lives, and a total gift of self to Christ and for Christ. Through your prayers and mine, it is possible toalleviate this tribulation, but it is no longer possible to avert it, because it is only in this way that the Church can be effectively renewed. How many times, indeed, has the renewal of the Church been effected in blood? This time, again, it will not be otherwise.

[John Paul II] does indeed cherish a great expectation that the millennium of divisions will be followed by a millennium of unifications… that all the catastrophes of our century, all its tears, as the Pope says, will be caught up at the end and turned into a new beginning.

OUR LADY CHOOSES THE U. S. FOR A FINAL PLEA
POSTED ON FEBRUARY 10, 2019 BY FR. REGIS SCANLON
But there is hope for a new beginning. A new era. An era of peace. An era where God’s Will is done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
From the crisis of today the Church of tomorrow will emerge — a Church that has lost much. She will become small and will have to start afresh more or less from the beginning. She will no longer be able to inhabit many of the edifices she built in prosperity. As the number of her adherents diminishes, so it will lose many of her social privileges… The process will be all the more arduous, for sectarian narrow-mindedness as well as pompous self-will will have to be shed… But when the trial of this sifting is past, a great power will flow from a more spiritualized and simplified Church.

After purification through trial and suffering, the dawn of a new era is about to break.
POPE ST. JOHN PAUL II, General Audience, September 10, 2003
There will emerge in the Catholic church a great and holy Pope. One who will pick up the pieces of destruction and move the church and the world into a renewed peace. He will be a true shepherd for the people and the faithful clergy “will follow the Lamb wherever he goes” and through their care many will return to God.
I have participated in multiple studies on the Book of Revelation. I found very intriguing the interpretation by Dr. Scott Hahn that the Book of Revelation maps directly into the liturgy of the Mass. A very interesting thought especially with the chapter 4 terminology that maps into a Heavenly worship:
And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all round and within, and day and night they never cease to sing, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they cast their crowns before the throne, singing, “Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created.”
Revelation 4:8-11
But, still that Heavenly worship interpretation is only valid for a small segment of that book. I have also been to Bible studies that side on all references to the Lamb being interpreted only as Jesus Christ . It’s hard for those to hold true throughout with references like in Rev 5:
And I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals; and I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, and I wept much that no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. Then one of the elders said to me, “Weep not; lo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Revelation 5:1-5
In this reference there is someone seated on the throne (obviously God himself) and the reference to the Lion of the tribe of Judah. That’s an easy reference since there is only one person who qualifies in that and He is Jesus Christ. But right after the Lion (Jesus Christ), we hear about a lamb?
And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders, I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth; and he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne.
Revelation 5:6-7
I had always understood that the ‘Lamb standing, as though it had been slain’, was another reference to Jesus Christ. But recently I’ve come to realize that Jesus would not appear as a lamb ‘as if it had been slain.’ Jesus was a lamb that was slain. There is no ‘as if‘ about it. He was slain, and that sacrifice is valid for all peoples who want to believe.
So… who or what could this other lamb be?
That is when I heard about the use of the term lambkin and the use of the word lamb to indicate the priesthood. Truly, priests give themselves up as a sacrifice to their flock. Their lives, their careers, their well-being become a sacrifice to proclaim Christ crucified to the world… to their flock.
Fast forward to chapter 13 of Revelation.
And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems upon its horns and a blasphemous name upon its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority.
Revelation 13:1-2
I have heard so many interpretations of this but the one that seems to ring true is that the ‘great red dragon’ (chapter 12), is Communism and Marxist atheism. The Catholic church has always condemned Communism, Marxism, Socialism, and Freemasonry. The ‘great red dragon’ is a symbol for China and as referenced in other places in Revelation, the dragon is also a reference to Satan. Satan is embedded in those political leaders.
Assuming that the dragon referred to in Chapter 13, is Communism, the beast rising ‘out of the sea… to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority’, could be a reference to Freemasonry and it’s arising from the area of Great Britain in the 18th century.
Then I saw another beast which rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed.
Revelation 13:11-12
This ‘Land Beast’ as I will call it, spoke like a dragon (spoke like a Communist). It exercised all the authority of the first beast (Freemasonry) and makes the earth worship the first beast (Freemasonry), whose mortal wound was healed.
Although the Catholic church stills forbids Freemasonry, most Catholics have no idea why. Most would see Freemasonry as a ecumenical, all encompassing fraternity of sorts. The Freemasonry of the 18th century seems to have suffered a mortal wound. No longer discussed. But, it’s not the fraternity that matters. It’s the ideals of Freemasonry that is the evil. Oh, yes, they appear quite benevolent “The teachings of Freemasonry enjoin morality, charity, and obedience to the law of the land.” but also stated “It is not, however, a Christian institution, though it is often taken to be such.” They believe in a Supreme Being, but they do not profess Christ Crucified. They have “obedience to the law of the land.”
If you live in the Amazon, they respect the laws and beliefs of the Amazonians. That is Freemasonry. They respect a Supreme Being, possibly a “Pachamama” or “Mother Earth” or any other supreme being anyone may worship. If so, you are welcome.
Another thing about this land beast is ‘ it had two horns like a lamb.’ If a lamb represents the priesthood, the two horns might represent the miter that the the Bishops would wear.
Is there any Bishops today that support the ideals of Freemasonry? Are there any Bishops who claim it is OK to bring Amazonian idols alongside the altar of Christ? Is it OK to worship a Supreme Being, no matter what that Supreme Being represents? If the current Bishops doing this are indeed the Land Beast of Revelation 13, then read on:
It works great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in the sight of men; and by the signs which it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast, it deceives those who dwell on earth, bidding them make an image for the beast which was wounded by the sword and yet lived; and it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast so that the image of the beast should even speak, and to cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.
Revelation 13:13-17
Think about when the book was written. St. John knew nothing about the modern technological advances we would make. He saw a statue, an image, and saw that statue talking (the image of the beast should even speak). How hard could that be with a television set? The animation available through Disney makes that happen each and every day. Are there TV programs today that ’cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.’ If the beast is Freemasonry, are there news programs today that will crucify you for proclaiming the Gospel truth about Jesus? Look at Supreme Justice Kavanough. Look at General Flynn. There is no one they will not attack to limit good Christian people from holding public office.
Read chapters 13 to 19 of Revelation with the thought that the dragon is Satan, the huge red dragon is Communism (China), the Sea Beast is Freemasonry, and the Land Beast is the ideals of Freemasonry infiltrated into the Catholic Church.
It’s not all doom and gloom though. In my next post, I’ll discuss the Lamb and 144,000 of chapter 14. There is so much to be hopeful about, because Satan will be bound for 1,000 years (or a great era) for a period of peace across all the Earth. The promise foretold by Fatima, that the Immaculate Heart of Mary would prevail is about to come true. What is this great era of peace? Come back in a few weeks.
