The Fifth Marian Dogma: Unused Weapon Of the Church
History shows that graces have been poured on the Church after Marian dogmas are proclaimed. Just before the proclamation of the Immaculate Conception, Pope Pius IX had been chased out of the Vatican by Masonic forces from southern Italy. While in exile in Gaeta, two cardinals approached the beleaguered Holy Father with the remedy to this dire situation: proclaim the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Pius IX acquiesced to their request and from exile wrote to the world’s bishops to state his intention to proclaim the new Marian dogma. The dogma was proclaimed, the papacy was restored, the Vatican and Church were secured, and the Marian dogma of the Immaculate Conception was subsequently declared infallible by the Holy Father.[8]
The request from The Lady of All Nations for a 5th and Final dogma is to “bring about a descent of the Holy Spirit in a fashion akin to the Pentecost and the founding of the Holy Catholic Church after Christ’s Ascension from earth to heaven. “
Last Year Dr. Miravalle produced this podcast that describes what needs to be done to bring about these promises starting at marker 11:00-14:00.
“Sister Anne” did a very exhaustive discussion on this apparition. ‘I hope to persuade you that the Amsterdam apparitions are the most important of all the Marian apparitions, ever, in all time. The apparitions have only been recently approved so it’s very important that they be made known as soon as possible.’ writes “Sister Anne” on her YouTube blog. She also discussed the Mosaic aspect of the Marian Apparitions.
Marker 07:10-12:15 for Overview of the mosaic and why this one is singled out as the most important and unique apparition for our times.
Next week we start our series on focus of the month for the Catholic Church. Come back to this same blog to see what the focus for October is.
God bless, David
‘Don’t be stupid,’ Fr. Mark Goring said. ‘ As Catholics, we are supposed to be defenders of life’
Tonight will be a quick overview of this series at St. Paul Center headed up by Dr. Scott Hahn in Steubenville OH.
Before we start the video, here’s a 2 min trailer for the new movie that is out now called Fatima.
In 1917, outside the parish of Fátima, Portugal, a 10-year-old girl and her two younger cousins witness multiple visitations of the Virgin Mary, who tells them that only prayer and suffering will bring an end to World War I. As secularist government officials and Church leaders try to force the children to recant their story, word of the sighting spreads across the country, inspiring religious pilgrims to flock to the site in hopes of witnessing a miracle.
The material for the Bible and the Sacraments can be accessed at the St. Paul Theological Center website at
For access to any of the DVDs in the series, please contact me.
For the next two weeks in this Catholic Study Session there will be a little mini-series. It will be a spin-off from the movie Fatima on some of the apparitions that follow the same message received at Fatima, and especially those that have come since Fatima was received.
Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Akita, Our Lady of America, and Our Lady of All Nations (Amsterdam) will be covered with a link back to the prior posts on the movies of Garabandal.
Join us next week for another discussion. Same time… Same channel…
This is the fifth lesson in a series that is being hosted at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Las Cruces. Lesson 4 can be found here. In this fifth in the series on the End Times we will research what has been described in Scripture, Magisterial teaching, Tradition, and writings from saints and blesseds, especially Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837), and the approved mystic2 and stigmatist, Marie-Julie Jahenny to guide our discussion of the Catholic View of remedies during the End Times.
Further confirmation we are entering the time of the chastisement or tribulation (from time marker 1:00 to 8:00, and 15:00 to 24:50 from a good summary of our earlier sessions on the Cathecism discussion of End Times):
As I was thinking about whether another in this series was needed, I watched this podcast from Mother Miriam. Now that the chastisement is confirmed, we can explore the remedies given by Heaven to its prophets.
During lesson 2 a blessed candle was mentioned as one remedy for the three days of darkness. A single candle will miraculously stay lit for the entire three days. This brings to mind the story of the women who assisted the prophet Elijah when he was hungry. Her reward for assisting him was a container of oil that was not depleted until the drought ended.
“Arise, go to Zar′ephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.” So he arose and went to Zar′ephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.” And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a cruse; and now, I am gathering a couple of sticks, that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” And Eli′jah said to her, “Fear not; go and do as you have said; but first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord the God of Israel, ‘The jar of meal shall not be spent, and the cruse of oil shall not fail, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’” And she went and did as Eli′jah said; and she, and he, and her household ate for many days. The jar of meal was not spent, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by Eli′jah.
1 King 17:9-16
This is just one of many examples where we need to trust the messengers of God. Another example is told in the book of Exodus:
Then they shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat them. They shall eat the flesh that night, roasted; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat any of it raw or boiled with water, but roasted, its head with its legs and its inner parts. And you shall let none of it remain until the morning, anything that remains until the morning you shall burn. In this manner you shall eat it: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s passover.
Exodus 12:7-11
Another remedy during the three days of darkness was given to Blessed Maria Taigi of Rome:
God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. During this alarm, the faithful should stay in their houses and recite the Rosary and beg God for Mercy. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot….
The Rosary will turn into a very effective remedy for these times. More on that towards the end of the lesson.
In tonight’s lesson we will go back to the time of Tribulation. In Matthew chapter 24 Jesus is pretty clear about the warnings of the times that will have to endure the Tribulation:
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: all this is but the beginning of the sufferings. Matt 24:7-8
Some of these have happened independently in the past, but Jesus is talking about a time when all these will happen at the same time. Wars and rumors of wars have been the scourge of the 20th century. Earthquakes are becoming a common occurrence. Here’s a page that gives insight into an Earthquake YouTube channel for all seismic activity.
Dutchsinse not only reviews the activity but, based upon prior activity, he predicts the most likely places where another quake will happen. He has become increasingly accurate in his predictions and his latest report from 8/28/2020 indicates a “Large Earthquake warning for Pacific.” For him a large quake would likely be between 6 and 7. It does not necessarily mean the quake will hit he west coast, but that a quake in the ocean could have far reaching effects with a tsunami hitting the west coast.
In 2020 we have witnessed the potential for a nuclear war with North Korea, seismic activity unprecedented in history, and famine on a global scale. That covers, wars and quakes, what about famine and pestilences that are described in Revelation.
In 2020 there have been numerous reports of locusts destroying farms in Africa and they are heading up to China which will likely lead to famine there as well.
According to wikidiff, there is not much difference between pestilence, plague, and virus. The bubonic plague is “the pestilent disease caused by a virulent bacterium,” while a pestilence is any “epidemic disease that is highly contagious, infectious, virulent and devastating.” We need discuss no further whether the world has been affected by a pestilence in 2020. Are there anymore pestilences expected? Wordreference.com defines this within the meaning of pestilence: “Political corruption is a pestilence in modern society.” Ain’t that the truth. Yes, there could be more than one. Earlier this month, Epoch Times reported that “China Seals Off Village Over Bubonic Plague Death in Inner Mongolia” and sadly there was also a report about it entering the US as early as July 2020. We will likely be wearing masks for some time.
If these then are the “beginning of the sufferings” that Jesus spoke of, what are those sufferings that will befall the world? And what are the remedies that the heavens have revealed to mankind?
Surely the Lord God does nothing, without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
Amos 3:7
If this is the tribulation then the sufferings would be found in the seals and the trumpets of Revelation.
Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth; and there were peals of thunder, loud noises, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake. The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, which fell on the earth; and a third of the earth was burnt up, and a third of the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the fountains of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died of the water, because it was made bitter. Rev 8:5,7-10
As I start to unveil the remedies that Our Lord and Our Lady have revealed to the prophets, let me reference a good source for anyone on the preparations and remedies during these times.
Some of the medals mentioned below are very powerful medals for spiritual protection. Should you be concerned of being superstitious about Catholic medals? They are sacramentals to be used as “sacred signs instituted by the Church to prepare us to receive the fruit of the sacraments and to sanctify different circumstances of our lives” (CCC, 1677).
Marie-Julie Jahenny was given great insight from the Lord and Our Lady for these times. It’s a long read, over 500 pages, and I’ve attached the scribd copy below. A free PDF download can be found here: https://www.academia.edu/11211343/We_Are_Warned_The_Prophecies_of_Marie_Julie_Jahenny 4
Deadly Plagues pg 574
The only remedy to protect yourself: Swallow a very small piece of paper on which is written: ‘O Jesus, Vanquisher of death, save us! O Crux ave, Spes unica!’
During Great Calamities pg 575
Say the prayer following the cross, (in procession), or, adore the cross you carry: “I salute You, I adore You, I embrace you, O Adorable Cross of My Saviour! Protect us, guard us, save us! Jesus loved you so much! Your Holy image calms my fears, I feel only peace and confidence.”
For farms, (fields, lands) pg 574
Put medals of St. Benedict around the fields, they must be planted in the ground in the form of a cross.
During the Great Storms pg 575
Say: “O Crux, ave, Spes unica! Et Verbum caro factum est. Oh Jesus, Vanquisher of Death, save us!”
Details on the Herbal Remedies pg 578
“You will take the infusion of St. John’s wort (Glechoma hederacea) especially during crisis, sufferings of the chest and violent headaches. Hawthorn (Craetagus oxyacantha) for cholera. For unknown fevers, the humble violet, (viola odorata) the perfume and virtue of humility will have effect.”
Special infusion for the hawthorn remedy, also a cure for the unknown malady that will begin with a burning red fever.
It will be horrible. The heat that will accompany it will be a consuming fire, so strong that the affected parts of the body will be of an unbearable redness, (red blotches / patches). After seven days, this malady, like the seed sown in a field, will rise rapidly and make immense progress (i.e. take over the body quickly).
My children, this is the only remedy that can save you: You know the leaves of thorns that grow in almost any hedges (hawthorn). The leaves of this thorn will stop the progress of the disease. You must pick the leaves, not the wood. Even dry, they will retain their effectiveness. Put them in boiling water and leave them there for 14 minutes, covering the container so that the steam remains. When the malady first attacks, you must use this remedy three times a day.
Advice from St. Gregory the Great, Pope pg 578
“What are you to do? Wait, pray, do what God wants. Let us serve God crossing all obscurities that are found in us. Let us serve Him despite all the darkness He makes us walk through. Even when the lights are completely extinguished in your souls, serve Him all the same, let us always serve Him. Never lose courage, crossing all perils, confronting all dangers. God will fill you with graces and consolations.” (August 19, 1878)
Scapular of Benediction and Protection
Jesus said to Marie-Julie Jahenny: “My children, all souls, all people who possess this scapular, will see their family protected, their home will also be protected, first of all from fires, which will never enter there. This scapular will strike down the ungrateful which blaspheme My Name in the home where it will be displayed. If an impious person enters, they will be so completely struck that their conversion will be close. All those who will carry it will be preserved from thunder, from sudden death and from accidents. During chastisements they will be protected.
Those who will carry it will be sheltered from any danger as though they already possessed Heaven. That this scapular, finally, will be as a lightning rod under which the blows of Just and Divine Wrath will not dwell.
I shall grant great graces to those who desire to be clothed in this Holy Habit.”
To the Priests, Our Lady’s beloved Sons
Earlier in this post it was discussed that the Rosary was an effective weapon during this time based upon the writings of Blessed Maria Taigi of Rome and the Three Days of Darkness. What did Mother Mary tell Fr. Gobbi about praying the Rosary and did she discuss the Tribulation time period?
34: Cenacles of Life with Me – January 17, 1974 The rosary is the weapon that I give to these children of mine to fight the great approaching battles which await them.
275e-f,h,r-s: The Dragon Will Be Shackled – October 7, 1983 Why is the holy rosary so efficacious? Because it is a simple prayer, a humble one, and it forms you spiritually in littleness, in meekness, in simplicity of heart. Satan’s pride will again be conquered by the humility of little ones, and the Red Dragon will find himself decisively humiliated and defeated when I bind him not by a great chain but by a very frail cord: the holy rosary. Today your heavenly Mother asks you to make use of the holy rosary as the most efficacious weapon for fighting in the great battle, under the command of the Woman Clothed with the Sun. Give your support to my invitation; multiply your cenacles of prayer and fraternity; consecrate yourselves to my Immaculate Heart; frequently recite the holy rosary! Then the powerful Red Dragon will be shackled by this chain, and his margin of action will become ever more restricted. In the end he will be left impotent and harmless.
289h-i: Be Converted! – May 13, 1984 Pray more; pray with the holy rosary; pray among yourselves in the cenacles; above all, pray in the family. I want Christian families to return to the practice of praying with me and by means of me, so that they will be saved from the great evils threatening them.
295i: Be My Apostles – September 20, 1984 How great is the work of Masonry and Communism which, in a hidden way, is being carried out for the destruction of my Church, which has always shone forth and flourished in your countries. Respond to these dark attacks by spreading my light everywhere. Give to all the security which I have prepared for you in view of the bloody days which are awaiting you: the refuge of my Immaculate Heart. Fight with prayer and penance; let the rosary be your victorious weapon.
371f: Shed Light Upon the Earth – January 1, 1988 Multiply your cenacles of prayer. Pray more; pray with me; pray, with the recitation of the holy rosary. I desire that Christian families consecrate themselves to my Immaculate Heart and become cenacles of prayer, of love and of life with me. …
387k-m: The Eyes Raised to Mary – August 31, 1988 The eyes raised to Mary : thus you are being enlightened with the virginal light of my prayer and of my motherly love. Multiply your cenacles of prayer. Always recite the holy rosary. Spread throughout your countries family cenacles, as a remedy for the great evils which are menacing your families with division, divorce, the legitimizing of abortion and all the various means of impeding life. Your prayer must always be oriented to Jesus in the Eucharist. Let it be a prayer of continual adoration, of reparation, of praise and of thanksgiving to the Eucharistic Jesus. May the love and adoration of Jesus present in the Eucharist begin anew to flourish everywhere. The coming of the glorious reign of Christ will coincide with the triumph of the Eucharistic reign of Jesus. Love Jesus; imitate Him; walk along the road of disdain for the world and for yourselves. Let the light of Christ be the only light which illumines you, under the gaze of my motherly and merciful eyes, at the moment when you live through the great tribulation.
392f: This Is Your Hour – October 27, 1988 — Be witnesses of prayer. Pray always; pray more; pray with the holy rosary. Multiply cenacles of prayer, amongst you priests and with the faithful. Above all, spread all about you family cenacles, which are desired by me as a remedy for the great evils which are today threatening the life of Christian families, through the legitimizing of abortion, of divorce, and of all the methods which prevent life.
418e: Only in the Hearts of Little Ones – February 2, 1990 — This response has been made to me by the parish, in all its components: the pastor and the flock entrusted to him. The parish community has consecrated itself to my Immaculate Heart and, each day, gathers together in a cenacle of prayer with me, with the recitation of the holy rosary and prostrating itself in adoration before the Eucharistic Jesus, solemnly exposed on the altar. Thus Jesus is able to release within souls his great power of love and, in this poor and out-of-the-way place, is already bringing about the triumph of his merciful love in the coming of his Eucharistic reign in your midst.
434h: My Greatest Victory – October 7, 1990 The spiritual cenacle of my Immaculate Heart is the refuge into which all of you must enter in order to receive the gift of the second Pentecost. Thus, with the powerful weapon of the holy rosary, you will be able to attain again today my greatest victory in the history of the Church and of all humanity.
479b,n-t: The Angel with the Key and the Chain – October 7, 1992 The rosary is my prayer; it is the prayer which I came down from heaven to ask of you, because it is the weapon which you must make use of, in these times of the great battle, and it is the sign of my assured victory. The chain, with which the great Dragon is to be bound, is made up of prayer made with me and by means of me. This prayer is that of the holy rosary. A chain has in fact the function of first of all limiting action, then of imprisoning, and finally of making ineffective every activity of the one who has been bound by it. — The chain of the holy rosary has first of all the function of limiting the action of my Adversary. Every rosary which you recite with me has the effect of restricting the action of the Evil One, of drawing souls away from his pernicious influence, and of giving greater impetus to the expansion of goodness in the life of many of my children. — The chain of the holy rosary has also the effect of imprisoning Satan, that is, of making his action impotent, and of diminishing and weakening more and more the force of his diabolical power. And so, each rosary which is recited well deals a mighty blow to the power of evil, and it represents one part of his reign which is destroyed. — The chain of the holy rosary brings about, in the end, the result of making Satan completely harmless. His great power is destroyed. All the evil spirits are cast into the pool of fire and sulfur; the door is shut by me with the key of the power of Christ, and thus they will no longer be able to go out into the world to do harm to souls. You understand now, my beloved children, why, in these last times of the battle between me, the Woman Clothed with the Sun, and the great Dragon, I am asking you to multiply everywhere the cenacles of prayer, with the recitation of the holy rosary, meditation on my word, and your consecration to my Immaculate Heart. With these, you make it possible for your heavenly Mother to take action in binding Satan, so that I may thus carry out my mission of crushing his head, that is to say, of defeating him once and for all, shutting him up in his abyss of fire and sulfur. The humble and fragile cord of the holy rosary forms the strong chain with which I will take as my prisoner the dark ruler of the world, the enemy of God and of his faithful servants. Thus the pride of Satan will once again be defeated by the power of the little, the humble and the poor.
519b: The Hour of Calvary – May 1, 1994 — The rosary which you recite has a very great power against evil and against the numerous enticements of my Adversary. To the reign of Satan which is spreading, to the slavery of sin which is subjugating many of my children, to evil which is instilling its venom in hearts, to the snares of the Evil One which have become subtle and dangerous, to the powerful force of Freemasonry which has succeeded in insinuating itself everywhere, to the cult of Satan which is spreading, respond with the prayer of the holy rosary. This is my prayer; it is your prayer.
From these references from Mother Mary we see the Rosary is a very important weapon during these times. And we also see that our reciting the Rosary actual infuses a mystical power, if you will, to Our Heavenly Mother to be able to bind and ultimately defeat the enemy, the Satan. The rosary is best led during a family prayer cenacle (like was done in the upper room, Acts 1:12-14).
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey away; and when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 1:12-14
See the Publications link below to access a pamphlet that provides instructions on starting a family prayer cenacle. This by far is the most powerful weapon during these times.
Conclusion
There is a Basic Introductory End Times kit that can be purchased from the St Michael Store. You can purchase all the remedies individually, but having a complete set is an ideal way to be prepared.
The Marian Movement of Priests Publications page can be used to purchase the Blue Book to be used for family prayer cenacles. If you are not in a family prayer cenacle, consider starting one and getting the entire family to participate with you. A family that prays together stays together.

This is the fourth lesson in a series that is being hosted at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Las Cruces. Lesson 3 can be found here. In this fourth in the series on the End Times we will research even further on what has been described about Purgatory and then a description of the rise (and fall) of the Antichrist.
In lesson 2 we discussed Fr. Alar’s view of those 5 stages in End Times. Those 5 stages are:
Time of great sin
Minor Chastisement
Era of Peace – Triumph of the Immaculate Heart – Restoration of Christianity – Great Leader – Holy Pope
Great Chastisement
General Judgement
In lesson 3 we discussed those 4 last things that happen upon everyone’s death:
Death
Judgement
Heaven
Hell
Lesson 3 included a detailed explanation of the purging process before entry into Heaven and the biblical basis for that. A short 7 minute summary of that can also be found on Ascension Presents.
In this fourth in the series on the End Times we will research even further on what has been described about Purgatory and then a description of the rise (and fall) of the Antichrist.
To those Catholics who think that purgatory is a relic of the Church’s pre-Vatican II past consider these 3 thoughts 1:
God is perfect; he is all holy. Nothing unclean can enter his presence (see Revelation 21:27). Therefore, we must be perfectly holy before we can enter heaven (see Hebrews 12:14).1
Though we may strive to cooperate with God’s saving grace, most of us will die with imperfections and attachments to sin.1
Therefore, there must be an intermediate state between bodily death and heaven that will cleanse us from our imperfections and prepare us to enter into the all-holy presence of God. The Church has defined this state as “purgatory.”1
Dr. Taylor Marshall talks in this video on the levels of Hell described by Saint Thomas Aquinas.
The Rise and Fall of the Antichrist
Matthias Gerung (1500–1570), “The Beasts of Revelation” (via Wikimedia Commons)
The rise of the Antichrist is depicted in several books of the Bible. In Daniel chapter 7 Daniel has a vision which is interpreted by the Angels. The vision includes 4 beasts and Daniel was very curious about the fourth beast. The description of the fourth beast is given in verses 7 and 8:
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, terrible and dreadful and exceedingly strong; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:7-8
And so Daniel is intrigued as we read:
“Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast, which was different from all the rest, exceedingly terrible, with its teeth of iron and claws of bronze; and which devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet; and concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up and before which three of them fell, the horn which had eyes and a mouth that spoke great things, and which seemed greater than its fellows. As I looked, this horn made war with the saints, and prevailed over them, until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High, and the time came when the saints received the kingdom.
Daniel 7:19-22
On verse 24 of this chapter we find that the horns refer to kings. Reading in verse 22, this last horn wars with the saints and prevails until the Ancient of Days come. The Ancient of Days is a reference to God or more specifically Jesus. How do I know this? Verses 9-10 of this chapter in Daniel refer to the Ancient of Days passing eternal judgement. And there is also the book of Micah which states:
But you, O Bethlehem Eph′rathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.
Micah 5:2
So the reference to Ancient of Days refers to the ruler of Israel born in Bethlehem. And so if the last horn in verse 22 wars with the saints and prevails until the Ancient of Days come then it maps with the book of Revelation chapter 19 which states:
And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind and give over their power and authority to the beast; they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
Rev 17:12-14
In both references there are ten horns and clearly called out in scripture as ten kings. The one with the ten kings in the Book of Revelation is the beast. The one with the ten kings in the Book of Daniel is the little horn who wars with the saints. In the Book of Revelation the ten kings and the beast make war with the Lamb but the Lamb, the Ancient of Days, will conquer them.
In 2 Thessalonians 2 is another description of the rise of the lawless one, the Antichrist.
Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you this? And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by his appearing and his coming. The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-12
Prophecies from Saints concerning the Antichrist
Early Patristic Writers4
Didache (90-100): In the last days false prophets and corrupters shall be multiplied and the sheep shall be turned into wolves and love into hate. When their iniquity shall have increased they shall hate each other and persecute and betray; and then shall appear the deceiver of the world as the Son of God.4
Saint Hippolytus (died 235): “For this is what the prophets Henoch and Elias will preach: Believe not the enemy who is to come and be seen; for he is an adversary and corrupter and son of perdition, and deceives you . . .”4
Saint Zenobius (died 285): a. “Antichrist, the son of perdition, will be born in Corozain, will be brought up in Bethsaida, and shall begin to reign in Capharnaum, according to what Our Lord Jesus Christ said in the Gospel, ‘Woe to thee Corozain . . . Woe to thee Bethsaida . . . and thou Capharnaum, that are exalted up to heaven, thou shalt be thrust down to hell.’ (cf. Luke 10:13-15)… Swollen with pride, Antichrist shall enter in triumph the city of Jerusalem, and will sit on a throne in the temple to be adored as if he were the Son of God. His heart being intoxicated with arrogance, he will forget his being mere man, and the son of a woman of the tribe of Dan.4
Saint Ephrem (died 375): Antichrist will use worldly goods as bait. He will entice many Christians with money and goods to apostatize. He will give them free land, riches, honor and power. The devil will help him find all the hidden treasures of the world, even those at the bottom of the oceans. With those treasures he will attain greater success for the reign of Satan than at any time in past centuries. 4
Saint Cyril of Jerusalem (died 386): He shall through his great power, deceit and malice, succeed in decoying or forcing to his worship two thirds of mankind; the remaining third part of men will most steadfastly continue true to the faith and worship of Jesus Christ. 4
Saint John Chrysostom (died 407): “Antichrist will be the illegitimate son of a Jewish woman from the East.” 4
Insights from the Saints and Blesseds
St. John Damascene (died 770): “His mother will proclaim she gave birth to him while remaining a virgin… Antichrist shall be an illegitimate child under the complete power of Satan; and God, knowing his incredible future perversity, will allow the devil to take a full and perpetual possession of him from his very sinful conception.” 4
Saint Methodius (died 885): “In the last period Christians will not appreciate the great grace of God who provided a Great Monarch, a long duration of peace, a splendid fertility of the earth.” 4
Bl. Anne-Catherine Emmerich: “When the time of the reign of Antichrist is near, a false religion will appear which will be opposed to the unity of God and His Church. This will cause the greatest schism the world has ever known. The nearer the time of the end, the more the darkness of Satan will spread on earth, the greater will be the number of the children of corruption, and the number of the just will correspondingly diminish…” 5
Bl. Anna Maria Taigi (19th Century): “Whole nations will join the Church shortly before the reign of the Antichrist. These conversions will be amazing. Those who survive shall have to conduct themselves well. There shall be innumerable conversions of heretics, who will return to the bosom of the Church; all will note the edifying conduct of their lives, as well as that of other Catholics. Russia, England and China will come into the Church…”5
Fr. Cush opened with “As we well know, the sense of the eschaton was greater in the early Church. What is the eschaton? It is the end time. Eschatology is the study of the reality of the four last things: death, judgment, Heaven, and hell. Sadly, the four last things are not preached about very often today. and, when they are, there seems to be some confusion concerning them. But the early followers of the Way, who daily were risking their lives because they believed in Christ, who were considered enemies of the state due to their faith, truly believed that, at any moment, Jesus, King of Glory and Lord of the World could descend, just as he had ascended, to judge each man according to his deeds.”
It’s great to fantasize that we might actually live to see Jesus “the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven” but for most the more normal sequence will occur. What does the Catechism say about death and what happens afterwards?
When a Christian is close to death, they may request the Anointing of the Sick. This sacrament is discussed in the Catechism
1532 The special grace of the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick has as its effects:
1) the uniting of the sick person to the passion of Christ, for his own good and that of the whole Church; 2) the strengthening, peace, and courage to endure in a Christian manner the sufferings of illness or old age; 3) the forgiveness of sins, if the sick person was not able to obtain it through the sacrament of Penance; 4) the restoration of health, if it is conducive to the salvation of his soul; the preparation for passing over to eternal life.
This sacrament is the best way for a Christian to prepare for the Particular Judgement that happens immediately upon death. The Catechism discusses this starting at paragraph 1021.
Death puts an end to human life as the time open to either accepting or rejecting the divine grace manifested in Christ. The New Testament speaks of judgment primarily in its aspect of the final encounter with Christ in his second coming, but also repeatedly affirms that each will be rewarded immediately after death in accordance with his works and faith. The parable of the poor man Lazarus and the words of Christ on the cross to the good thief, as well as other New Testament texts speak of a final destiny of the soul–a destiny which can be different for some and for others.
Each man receives his eternal retribution in his immortal soul at the very moment of his death, in a particular judgment that refers his life to Christ: either entrance into the blessedness of heaven-through a purification or immediately, — or immediate and everlasting damnation.
At the evening of life, we shall be judged on our love.
CCC 1021-1022
The soul then knows it’s destiny as either Heaven or hell. If there is unrepentant sin staining the soul of the person, there will need to be a purging or cleansing of that stain to remove it from the soul before the soul goes to Heaven to be with God. This purging is the purging of fire discussed in 1 Corinthians 3.
If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
1 Corinthians 3:14-15
This will be a fire like the fire in the bush. The fire never consumes the bush. This purging process is what is termed purgatory. Possibly not as much a place as a state of being, like the burning bush that is never consumed.
Early Christians were the first to rejoice in their suffering because their faith was being tested like a refiners fire (1 Peter 1:7) and that suffering would in some way remove that stain of sin and possibly lessen that time in the purging process. If not for them, than for someone else who was already destined for Heaven.
The Church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. The Church formulated her doctrine of faith on Purgatory especially at the Councils of Florence and Trent. The tradition of the Church, by reference to certain texts of Scripture, speaks of a cleansing fire: “As for certain lesser faults, we must believe that, before the Final Judgment, there is a purifying fire. He who is truth says that whoever utters blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will be pardoned neither in this age nor in the age to come. From this sentence we understand that certain offenses can be forgiven in this age, but certain others in the age to come.“
This teaching is also based on the practice of prayer for the dead, already mentioned in Sacred Scripture: “Therefore [Judas Maccabeus] made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin.” From the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God. The Church also commends almsgiving, indulgences, and works of penance undertaken on behalf of the dead: “Let us help and commemorate them. If Job’s sons were purified by their father’s sacrifice, why would we doubt that our offerings for the dead bring them some consolation? Let us not hesitate to help those who have died and to offer our prayers for them.”
CCC 1031-1032
For those not destined for Heaven “The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, “eternal fire.” The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.” CCC 1035
How many people are destined for Heaven or hell? Sacred Scripture says “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Matt 7:13-14
At the end of the fullness of time there will be a Last Judgement as discussed in CCC paragraphs 1038-1041. The resurrection of all the dead, “of both the just and the unjust,” will precede the Last Judgment (also known as the General Judgement).
V. THE LAST JUDGMENT
The resurrection of all the dead, “of both the just and the unjust,” will precede the Last Judgment. This will be “the hour when all who are in the tombs will hear [the Son of man’s] voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.” Then Christ will come “in his glory, and all the angels with him. . . . Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. . . . And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
In the presence of Christ, who is Truth itself, the truth of each man’s relationship with God will be laid bare. The Last Judgment will reveal even to its furthest consequences the good each person has done or failed to do during his earthly life: “All that the wicked do is recorded, and they do not know. When “our God comes, he does not keep silence.”. . . he will turn towards those at his left hand: . . . “I placed my poor little ones on earth for you. I as their head was seated in heaven at the right hand of my Father – but on earth my members were suffering, my members on earth were in need. If you gave anything to my members, what you gave would reach their Head. Would that you had known that my little ones were in need when I placed them on earth for you and appointed them your stewards to bring your good works into my treasury. But you have placed nothing in their hands; therefore you have found nothing in my presence.”“
The Last Judgment will come when Christ returns in glory. Only the Father knows the day and the hour; only he determines the moment of its coming. Then through his Son Jesus Christ he will pronounce the final word on all history. We shall know the ultimate meaning of the whole work of creation and of the entire economy of salvation and understand the marvelous ways by which his Providence led everything towards its final end. The Last Judgment will reveal that God’s justice triumphs over all the injustices committed by his creatures and that God’s love is stronger than death.
The message of the Last Judgment calls men to conversion while God is still giving them “the acceptable time, . . . the day of salvation.”629 It inspires a holy fear of God and commits them to the justice of the Kingdom of God. It proclaims the “blessed hope” of the Lord’s return, when he will come “to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all who have believed.”
CCC 1038-1041
A YouTube by Fr. Ripperger on Sensus Fidelium is a good review of the Judgement phase.
Many blessed and saints through the years have been given a chance to understand what Heaven and Hell are like. St. Faustina wrote many entries in her diary of these four last things that a pamphlet was created. If you would like a copy, please send me an e-mail.
This is the second lesson in a series that is being hosted at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Las Cruces. Lesson 1 can be found here.
In lesson 1 we discussed the Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraphs 668-682 where it discusses the Church entering into a final passion similar to Christ’s passion. The Church, the Bride of Christ, will undergo a death and resurrection similar to her Bridegroom’s death and resurrection.

Great Chastisement
General Judgement
There has been an unprecedented amount of sin present in the world over the last 10 years and it is safe to assume stage 1 is fully underway. We have seen great disasters; both natural and man-made disasters. Some say the corona virus was the result of experimentation in a labs in both the US and in China and that there is an actual patent on the virus going back several years. It was not new, just a new mutation. If we are not fully in the Minor Chastisement stage, it’s a pretty good dress rehearsal.
As Father Alar said, that stage is fully conditional. We would not even enter that if enough people turned back to God. But, without the repentance God has only one course of action, discipline. It is the only way at that point to save as many souls as possible.
In God’s mercy he will allow several events during stage 2 to turn the hearts of man back to Him. The first event is the Illumination of Conscience or what some refer to as the Warning. There are many videos on this and Father Alar discusses this at marker 47:00 in his video above. Another very faithful religious sister, “Sister Anne,” after being a Carmelite for 33 years, felt a calling in 2011 to start a new order. The new order is based on Mother Mary’s description to two shepherd children at La Salette in the middle of the 19th century about a religious order to help the world after a great turmoil and chastisement. She discusses the Warning and Illumination in this video and based upon the revelations of saints and blesseds:
As can be seen from the video and title, “Sister Anne” is expecting this Illumination of Conscience very soon. She even sponsored a conference in 2020 called “The Spiritual First Responders.” All videos of that conference are available on Gab TV.
The Catholic Author, Christine Watkins, wrote a book earlier this year with a detailed account of the Warning for anyone interested in further research.
Before we arrive at stage 3, the era of peace, there is expected a permanent sign that will not have a natural origin. This Miracle will be supernatural in origin and will be permanent until the end of the times. It is supposed to happen within 12 months after the Illumination of Conscience. At Garabandal there was a priest who died as a result of joy in seeing the miracle in a vision. Here is the link to read more about this priest and what happened.
A detailed discussion of the Miracle and it’s timing can be found at this site.
A word of caution is in order. Although a Miracle is discussed at both Medugorje and Garabandal, the Vatican has not given official recognition of the events at Garabandal, the movie released in 2020 helped to address some of those reasons, and the Vatican has allowed pilgrimages to be made to Medugorje but again, no formal recognition of supernatural origin for the apparitions themselves. At Garabandal, the seers were given knowledge of the Warning (Illumination of Conscience) which would then be followed by the Miracle which Conchita would announce to the Pope 8 days prior.
In our next session we will continue the discussion on the Catholic View of the End Times with the Reign of the Antichrist.
“FROM THENCE HE WILL COME AGAIN TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD”
I. HE WILL COME AGAIN IN GLORY
Christ already reigns through the Church. . .
668 “Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.”549 Christ’s Ascension into heaven signifies his participation, in his humanity, in God’s power and authority. Jesus Christ is Lord: he possesses all power in heaven and on earth. He is “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion”, for the Father “has put all things under his feet.”550 Christ is Lord of the cosmos and of history. In him human history and indeed all creation are “set forth” and transcendently fulfilled.551
669 As Lord, Christ is also head of the Church, which is his Body.552 Taken up to heaven and glorified after he had thus fully accomplished his mission, Christ dwells on earth in his Church. The redemption is the source of the authority that Christ, by virtue of the Holy Spirit, exercises over the Church. “The kingdom of Christ [is] already present in mystery”, “on earth, the seed and the beginning of the kingdom”.553
670 Since the Ascension God’s plan has entered into its fulfillment. We are already at “the last hour”.554 “Already the final age of the world is with us, and the renewal of the world is irrevocably under way; it is even now anticipated in a certain real way, for the Church on earth is endowed already with a sanctity that is real but imperfect.”555 Christ’s kingdom already manifests its presence through the miraculous signs that attend its proclamation by the Church.556
. . .until all things are subjected to him
Though already present in his Church, Christ’s reign is nevertheless yet to be fulfilled “with power and great glory” by the King’s return to earth.557 This reign is still under attack by the evil powers, even though they have been defeated definitively by Christ’s Passover.557 Until everything is subject to him, “until there be realized new heavens and a new earth in which justice dwells, the pilgrim Church, in her sacraments and institutions, which belong to this present age, carries the mark of this world which will pass, and she herself takes her place among the creatures which groan and travail yet and await the revelation of the sons of God.”559 That is why Christians pray, above all in the Eucharist, to hasten Christ’s return by saying to him:560Marana tha! “Our Lord, come!”561
672 Before his Ascension Christ affirmed that the hour had not yet come for the glorious establishment of the messianic kingdom awaited by Israel562 which, according to the prophets, was to bring all men the definitive order of justice, love and peace.563 According to the Lord, the present time is the time of the Spirit and of witness, but also a time still marked by “distress” and the trial of evil which does not spare the Church564 and ushers in the struggles of the last days. It is a time of waiting and watching.565
The glorious advent of Christ, the hope of Israel
673 Since the Ascension Christ’s coming in glory has been imminent,566 even though “it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.”567. This eschatological coming could be accomplished at any moment, even if both it and the final trial that will precede it are “delayed”.568
674 The glorious Messiah’s coming is suspended at every moment of history until his recognition by “all Israel”, for “a hardening has come upon part of Israel” in their “unbelief” toward Jesus.569 St. Peter says to the Jews of Jerusalem after Pentecost: “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old.”570 St. Paul echoes him: “For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?”571 The “full inclusion” of the Jews in the Messiah’s salvation, in the wake of “the full number of the Gentiles”,572 will enable the People of God to achieve “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”, in which “God may be all in all”.573
The Church’s ultimate trial
675 Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.574 The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth575 will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.576
676 The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,577 especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.578
677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.579 The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven.580 God’s triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.581
II. TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD
678 Following in the steps of the prophets and John the Baptist, Jesus announced the judgment of the Last Day in his preaching.582 Then will the conduct of each one and the secrets of hearts be brought to light.583 Then will the culpable unbelief that counted the offer of God’s grace as nothing be condemned.584 Our attitude to our neighbor will disclose acceptance or refusal of grace and divine love.585 On the Last Day Jesus will say: “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”586
679 Christ is Lord of eternal life. Full right to pass definitive judgment on the works and hearts of men belongs to him as redeemer of the world. He “acquired” this right by his cross. The Father has given “all judgment to the Son”.587 Yet the Son did not come to judge, but to save and to give the life he has in himself.588 By rejecting grace in this life, one already judges oneself, receives according to one’s works, and can even condemn oneself for all eternity by rejecting the Spirit of love.589
680 Christ the Lord already reigns through the Church, but all the things of this world are not yet subjected to him. The triumph of Christ’s kingdom will not come about without one last assault by the powers of evil.
681 On Judgment Day at the end of the world, Christ will come in glory to achieve the definitive triumph of good over evil which, like the wheat and the tares, have grown up together in the course of history.
682 When he comes at the end of time to judge the living and the dead, the glorious Christ will reveal the secret disposition of hearts and will render to each man according to his works, and according to his acceptance or refusal of grace.
Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, loud noises, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.
Revelation 11:19
The tribulation specified in Revelation 11:19 is followed by the woman being led to safety in Revelation 12:6.
the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which to be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
Revelation 12:6
and then a battle ensues between St. Michael and the Dragon,
And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had borne the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood. But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon had poured from his mouth. Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus.
Revelation 12:13-17
In many of Our Mother’s messages she has continually stressed the times we are in and the need for prayer, penance, and fasting. There has been a constant mention of chastisement since before Fatima, if we did not change our ways. Fr. Gobbi felt the calling by Our Blessed Mother to start the Marian Movement of Priests in the 1970s and 1980s. Those interior locutions he received continued into the 90s.
As early as 1974, in message 33, she stressed the refuge to protect us. She said “If you live each moment in this refuge, you will always be kept warm by my love and that of my Son Jesus.” She went on to say “Fear neither the cold nor the darkness, because you will be in the Heart of your Mother, and from there you will point out the way to a great multitude of my poor wandering children.” She said that if we are in the refuge we will see all the events which are to follow one upon another as from afar, without allowing ourselves to be in the least affected by them.
Mother Mary proclaimed herself to Fr. Gobbi as the Virgin of Revelation in 1980. She had come to reveal to the priests the “secret of the Word, become flesh in my maternal womb.”
What is that place, that refuge of safety?
Message 72, April 25, 1975, includes “Take refuge now in my Immaculate Heart: I want you here to strengthen you and to protect you at the time of the terrible trial.”
The two wings of the eagle that led the women to safety are: 1) The Word of God, received, loved and kept with faith and 2) The Word of God lived with grace and charity. Mother Mary sought refuge for herself in the desert. She says in message 403, “The desert, in which I have made my habitual dwelling place, is made up of the hearts and the souls of all those children who receive me, who listen to me, who entrust themselves completely to me, who consecrate themselves to my Immaculate Heart.”
God has given Christians a refuge during this storm. For those who do not want to enter “a place prepared by God, in which to be nourished” during this storm, then the dragon is off to make war on “the rest of her offspring.”
At Fatima in 1917, Mother Mary promised that her “Immaculate Heart will triumph in the end.” After the triumph of her Immaculate Heart, Jesus will reign in the hearts and souls of all peoples and a great era of peace will be granted to the world.
That completes this week. Join us next week as we dive deeper into the events of the tribulation and especially the Warning, the Illumination of Conscience, and the Three Days of Darkness.
